Hate phrase of the day:

‘carbon neutral’.

This mean burp of a phrase from the language that gave us, ‘Is this the face that launched a thousand ships and burned the topless towers of Ilium…’

And Shakespeare: ‘rough winds do shake the darling buds of may and summer’s lease hath all too short a date’.

Except now it’s the darling buds of January, because we’re not carbon neutral.

You have the soul of a poet, but you have taken off your gauntlet and slapped “carbon neutral’s” face…now it demands satisfaction! I look forward to reading your suggestions for expressing this concept in language befitting the…er…Language.
