Galileo’s ghost must be pissing himself about this:

Italian researchers want to exhume his remains, to test his DNA to see what caused his blindness.  The Florence church where in his mortal remains are buried have said ‘No! Eet is-a disrespect-full-a!’ (I am frequently mistaken for an Italian native.)

That’ll be the church which declared his work heresy, forced him to disown it under threat of torture at the hands of the inquisition and exiled him to house arrest undre threat of etc. etc? Yes.

There’s no hypocrite like a holy hypocrite.
